Could my Wash. U. Degree Lose its Credibility?

[Panel/Forum] with Controversy 'n' Coffee
Cheating is on the rise in our nation's colleges and universities. What kinds of scandals can cause—and have caused—lasting damage to a school's reputation? How do these incidents affect the student body? What can students do to protect the value of their diploma?

This is your chance to talk about integrity at Wash. U.: Should we prohibit backfiles and test banks? Should students be required to turn in a friend who cheated?
Panelists:
Heidi Kolk, Academic Coordinator of the American Culture Studies Program
Jeff Cannon, Assoc. Dean for the Undergraduate Program in the Olin Business School
Richard Loomis, Assoc. Professor of Chemistry
Dirk Killen, Assoc. Dean in the College of Arts & Sciences

What do iPods, Essays, and Wikipedia have in Common?

Intellectual Property from the Dorm to the Globe

[Panel]
"Standing on the shoulders of giants" is easier said than done. How do you walk the line between relying on someone's creativity and taking credit for your own brilliant ideas? How much protection do your ideas need, especially now that information sharing is so easy—and how much is too much? Bootlegged DVDs and pirated music just scratch the surface of the debate about how to promote innovation in our society.
Panelists:
Charles McManis, Thomas And Karole Green Professor Of Law at Wash. U. Law School
Monica Allen, Assoc. Vice Chancellor, Deputy General, Office of the General Counsel
Matt Arthur, Director of Incident Communications Solutions in Information Services & Technology
Ruth Lewis, Librarian and Co-chair of the Scholarly Communications Group
